Surroundings
The Vall de Núria resort around the hotel includes several services and activities (see maps here, here or here ). However, most activities are available only during the summer season, so they might be closed at the time of the Meeting.
The outdoor activities of the social program will be focused especially on easy walks without going far from the hotel. They will include the 1 star (*) and 2 star (**) proposals in this map .
Please keep in mind that sudden weather changes are frequent in the mountain climate, and this area is known for extremely fast changes. See the wheather page here. It is advisable to take a GPS device with you in order to reach back the hotel in conditions of poor visibility.
Although these trails are easy and you do not need any special equipment, wear the appropriate clothes and hiking shoes. The ground can be very slippery if there is some mud or ice.
Camí del llac i Creu d'en Riba (walk around the lake and to Creu d'en Riba view point): 1.6 km, 30m vertical gain, link, track.
Camí del Bosc i Camí de les Creus (walk to Pic d'Aliga viewpoint and Via Crucis): 4.0 km, 180m vertical gain, link, track.
Camí del Canal (walk to the Canal viewpoint alongside Finestrelles stream and forest): 2.0 km, 70m vertical gain, link, track.
We strongly discourage the 3 star (***) "Camí de les Coves" unless you have enough experience in trekking. There are steep slopes with the possibility of ice. Please use trekking poles (bastones) in this track.
Camí de les Coves (walk by the caves that, according to tradition, were used by Saint Gilles): 2.7 km, 170m vertical gain, link, track.
We also do not recommend trekking to the high altitudes or far from the hotel unless you have adequate mountain experience and equipment. You can get a trekking map at the tourist information office.
