Meeting Venue

Vall de Núria

The XIV Iberian Meeting on Computational Electromagnetics will be held at Hotel Vall de Núria, in the Catalonian Eastern Pyrenees.

The glaciar valley of Núria, at about 2,000 meters above sea level, is a natural amphitheater surrounded by an imposing circle of carenas, mountains and peaks, all close to 3,000 meters of altitude. Access to the facilities is possible only by rack railway or walking from nearby village Queralbs or the small town Ribes de Freser.

It is a historic site of Catalonian hiking and skiing. The railway to Ripoll dates from 1880 in the XIX century, to Ribes de Freser in 1919 and to Vall de Núria in 1931 link link link pdf .

The building complex also hosts the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Núria and the chapel of Saint Gilles. The place is also notable for the 1931 drafting of the first Catalan Statute of Autonomy.
